Christian Health Aid

Christian Health Aid is a registered healthcare sharing ministry operated by the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite to assist our members with health care costs.  Although we are not a commercial insurance company, the way we assist members with medical bills is very similar to major medical coverage.

Just like traditional insurance, Christian Health Aid has defined benefits for our members. The dropdown ‘Program Info>Sharing Details’ lists what is shareable and non-shareable. Providers may also call us to confirm if a procedure or code will be shareable. If the codes are shareable, we process all medical bills towards the members’ benefit levels. We never reduce the amount of a medical bill without an active provider agreement in place. None of our programs are considered “self-pay.” We require a medical bill to be submitted to us so we can then process it towards our members’ benefits.

Medical bills should be submitted to our office on regular health insurance claim forms (HCFA 1500 or UB04), and we will issue reimbursement directly to providers with remittance advice.

We do not require any pre-certification or pre-authorization for any procedure. We are not a part of any primary network, but we process bills for all providers at “In-Network” benefits.

Here are some definitions of our terminology:

Annual Member Responsibility (AMR): Deductible

Annual Family Responsibility (AFR): Family Deductible

Annual Sharing Limit: Max Annual Benefit

Medical Bills: Claims

Member’s Percentage: Coinsurance (the remaining percentage after we share our portion)

Shareable: Covered

Sharing: Claim Payments

Sharing Percentage after AMR/AFR: Percentage Christian Health Aid will pay of the bill
